BA1b 3D - Damaged Pillar 5

In order to bring my zbrush model into maya, I had to apply decimation to the pillar inside of zbrush to bring the polys down as low as I could. I then brought it into maya, and had to try and only keep the most important parts of the zbrush model to use on my low poly. I couldn't however do that with my tiger, so will have to quad draw it. Below is the decimation so far, but with the tiger it is still extremely high poly and I will have to lower it further.

Below is the tri count of the decimated model above. Its pretty clearly over the 10000 limit of tris we have set.

BA1b 3D - Damaged Pillar 4

This is my tiger pillar which I have worked on in zbrush. I had a lot of fun doing this as I've never really used it much, so destroying my model and adding cool effects like scratches was a lot of fun. I suspect I might have added too much detail to my model, but I wanted to experiment a lot with what I could do inside zbrush.

BA1b 3D - Damaged Pillar 3

This is the low poly of my broken pillar idea, with the tiger placed on a base in the middle. I decided in the end that this was the most logical way of incorporating the tiger and the pillar so they are one thing, rather than it looking like a statue placed next to a pillar. Below is the low poly and its wireframe -

Next thing to do is to bring it into zbrush, to make it broken and add any other details I want.

BA1b 3D - Damaged Pillar 2

I have done a couple of sketches of the pillar idea I might want to expand further with. My personal favourite is the middle one, with the tiger sleeping next to the pillar. However this might be a problem as it might not appear to be 'part of the pillar' so I would maybe have to alter it slightly.

The idea from the tiger came from the animated pixel below:

Which I had originally found on a pixel blog, but with more research it is an altered version of the one below, which is by syosa on deviantart (x)

I like the way the tiger is positioned, it looks calm and at peace. I liked the idea of having a big cat on my pillar, so will look into it further.

BA1b 3D - Damaged Pillar

Our next task is to create a damaged pillar, using zbrush and maya. We also need to make a normal map for it, and put it in unreal. I think i want to create an animal related one, so I've started collecting pictures that inspire me.

BA1b 3D - Personal Work

In my personal time I decided I wanted to create a low poly deer in maya. This was a fun challenge that i enjoyed, and the end result i am very happy with. Once I know more on how to texture I would like to texture this and even rig it. Below is the model and wireframe -

BA1b 3D - Vintage Telephone 3

This is my completed vintage telephone. I think its gone well, the shapes are all correct and the wire came out really well. The dial was a challenge as I've never done something quite like that before, but in the end I managed to do as best I could.
Below are the wireframe screenshots of the model.

I think the actual telephone part may be too small in comparison to the base, and there may be some other proportion issues around. I guess you can't avoid it when copying from an image from only one angle.

Below is the model without the wireframe. I made the texture blinn and changed it to a brown colour to make it look more phone-like.

All in all I am happy with this 3D model but I know in the future I could do better.
