BA2b - Week 5 Summary

This week I continued working on pixel designs for the game, as well as working on the proposal given to us by Merlin.
I continued working on some more designs for the space room, making a large solar system poster to go on a wall. I'm still not an expert at pixel art so I still struggle with shading to make it look more realistic, but I'm proud of what I've designed so far as I've only ever taught myself how to make pixel art.

I also started working on the dinosaur exhibit, drawing one of my favourite dinosaurs the Ankylosaurus. I am very proud of how this looks so far, though not entirely finished.

I was also given the task of decorating the rooms, starting with the main room and the human room. As I was decorating I felt that there was something missing and the upper parts of the rooms felt bare, so I decided to make a fancy chandelier to add to the rooms. I'm proud of how the chandelier looks and it seems like you would find it in a fancy museum.

Below are some screenshots I took of the rooms I've currently decorated with everyones work.

I wouldn't call myself a very professional decorator but I think I did a pretty good job with the rooms and what I was given. I do however feel as if there could be more put into the rooms, and I don't think I'm finished yet with the main room, but as they are I think it works.

Below are our trello boards for this week.

Ba2b - Week 4 Summary

This week we had another tutorial about our trello board, getting feedback on how its working and how our game is moving forward. Below is how our trello board looks currently-

I've been working further on the space assets for the museum, looking at real life exhibits and thinking of ways we can incorporate their designs into our game for some authenticity, whilst still keeping our cheesy horror game aesthetics. Along with the arcade game, I've currently made the three posters based on the Horsehead Nebula, a disc galaxy and the Pillars of Creation in the Eagle Nebula. Also have drawn a NASA spacesuit, and some space rocks.

I like how these are looking so far, though they do require a lot of time to make them realistic and detailed, especially with the posters as space obviously has a lot of details and small areas.

Here are some screenshots of the game, mostly in the human exhibit, with some of the assets I have made. These areas aren't yet decorated fully, but most of the assets are in there ready to be placed properly. I will be decorating the rooms, and I want them to have the aesthetic of cheesy horror but still look like an actual museum.

Some of my sprites tested in a cabinet, they will be a lot bigger in final game
