This is the second silhouette I decided to work on. I thought that this insect had an interesting leg structure, and I like the beetle-like appearance. I think for the legs on this insect I subconsciously got inspiration from Boston Dynamics, a company that makes advanced robots. The ones I got inspiration the most from are BigDog, WildCat and their recent one called Spot. The video below shows how the robot Spot works.
I think that the way their robots legs work is fascinating, especially the more recent ones. Spot seems so organic, which I thought would be something very difficult to replicate with a robot.
In reference to my insect, I think it may be one I experiment further with, however I may need to tweak certain areas such as the fact that it only has four legs, as the average insect has six, but these are minor things that I can easily work on.
